American River College
American River College offers both an AS degree and Certificate in Biotechnology, as well as an AS degree in Bioinformatics. Students in the program learn the underlying principles of biotechnology as well as current applications in areas such as agriculture, medicine and forensics. Foothill College
The Biotechnology Curriculum at Foothill College is an intensive nine month sequence of instruction, with entry in the Fall Quarter only. This program is designed to prepare students for jobs as entry-level laboratory technicians in a variety of research areas, including pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical laboratories. Short courses to enhance job skills are also available. Students have two options; (1) those who complete the program in a satisfactory manner will be awarded a Certificate of Proficiency in Biotechnology.
